Hull Dance Development Award
Jorden Brooks Easter Project 2025
Jorden Brooks received the Hull Dance Development Award for 2024/25 which enables artists based in the North of England to focus on their own artistic development. This award was specifically to support an artist to explore ways to include young people’s voice in their work.
Taking ideas from her professional work Step Jockey Jorden, Jay and Isabelle explored what dance meant to them, how dance as a tool for relief, escapism, and pure enjoyment. Through discussions, reflections and the work generated Jorden deepened her understanding of how she can make dance a shared experience that speaks to the unique perspectives of participants while also bringing them together as a collective.
